Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I place an Order?
Email gary@mainstreetapparel.com and someone from our team will be in touch with you shortly, or call us at 765-282-4444. Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm.
Q: What is the standard turnaround time for an order?
A: 7-10 business days is the standard turnaround time, however many factors can affect this including art approval, receipt of final needed quantities, and apparel availability from our distributors. If you are needing a quick turnaround, please contact us by phone to discuss options.
Q: What are the minimum orders? Do I have to get them all the same size and style?
A: We do not have a minimum order however, we highly recommend at least 12 to 18 shirts. The setup and art costs are amortized into the cost of each shirt, so you can make the most of your setup by ordering at a higher quantity. Keep in mind, you can split this up between apparel colors, apparel types, as long as ink color(s)/print locations, and printed size of art stay the same across all garments.
Q: Can I provide my own garments?
A: This is handled on a case by case basis. Some garments are not meant to be printed / embroidered at all or would be too great of a risk to attempt. If a mistake occurs on an item you provide, we cannot guarantee a replacement. We have a wide variety of items available to source, and ordering garments through us typically results in lower overall cost. Our scrap rate is less than 2% however we cannot provide compensation for any mistakes that may occur. Please call us to set up an appointment if you prefer to provide your own items.
Q: Can I provide my own artwork?
A: Yes, we gladly accept artwork you have created. If you have your artwork available in .eps format, it will be easiest for us to work with, as this is a Vector file. Raster filetypes such as .jpg, .png, or .gif will need to be converted to vector before we can use them (we can provide this service.) Please note, if we use artwork you have supplied to decorate your product, you are warranting that you have unrestricted right and authority to use and distribute that artwork.
Q: How much does a shirt cost?
A: This is a loaded question, because several variables effect your overall price per shirt. First, we need to see what art you would like to put on the garment. Second, we need to know approximately how many you need. Third, we need to know what garment(s) you would like it put on. Last but not least, we also need to know your need-in-hand date for the garments.
Q: What else can you screen print on / or embroider?
A: T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, Long Sleeve Tees, Canvas Tote Bags, Towels, Polos, Dress Shirts, Jackets, Vests, Ballcaps, Beanies, Sweatpants, Shorts, Tank Tops, Quarter-Zips, and other items that can be found in our 3 online catalogs. (www.mainstreetapparel.com/catalogs) Please note not all items will accept screen print or embroidery – we are glad to advise you on which items are better for screenprint and which are better for embroidery.
Q: I have a quote from a competitor, can you meet or beat it?
A: We’re glad to quote any project. In order to give you the best and most accurate quote, please make sure you have all the specifics and give us all of that so we can compare apples to apples (shirt brand/weight/model/qty/sizes/price per/shipping/tax/etc). Often competitors will try to appear to be offering a better deal, when in reality they are printing on a lower quality shirt. We can print on cheaper shirts too, however we do not often recommend those types of clothing.
Q: I'm in a rush, can you print very quickly?
A: This depends greatly on whatever is currently on our plate. Many times we can make it happen. We have been known to turn around orders very quickly if the customer is in a rush and has the correct files. If you’re on a deadline, let us know that right away so we can try our best to accommodate your timeline.
Q: I want to have my design printed on a few different color shirts, can you do that?
A: No problem at all as long as the ink colors stay the same. We can even change ink colors in many cases, however there is a $10 fee per screen to change ink colors.
Q: My ink color looks slightly different than what it looked like on the computer screen proof.
A: We do not guarantee color matching. Closest color of ink is always used. We are glad to set an appointment for you to come in and view our available ink colors. If you have an exact color of ink, you want us to use, please let us know the PMS color. There will be $75-$150 charge for exact PMS Color ink.
Q: Where (locations) can you print on my clothing?
A: Left Chest, Center Chest, Center Upper Back, Back of Neck (referred to as a Locker Patch), Side of Body, Sleeve, Hemline, Back Shoulder, Leg, and others.
Q: How are shirts packaged?
A: We sort and fold by size and shirt style, in bundles of 12.
Q: I want a specific brand of shirt, can you get them?
A: Just let us know what brand and we will work with you to get it. We have many brands available in our online catalogs at www.mainstreetapparel.com/catalogs
Q: Can my art be printed on Youth Size and Adult Size shirts?
A: Yes, however please be aware that in order to make the artwork look appropriate across a large span of sizes, you will want 2 sets of screens. The size art that looks good on a small child will not look good on an adult. Example situations where 2 sets of screens are recommended: Youth Small through Adult XL, or Adult Small through Adult 4X. Your prices will be quoted with 1 set of screens or 2 sets, and the final decision on whether or not to use 2 sets of screens is completely yours. Please click on the image to view an illustration of art sizing.
Q: Can you print us a sample?
A: Due to the extensive setup process screen printing requires we cannot offer printed samples. If you'd like to see samples of our previous work, please feel free to come into our shop.
Q: Can you keep my screens for future use?
A: We do not keep screens, as this would require too much storage space. After a screen is used, we re-claim it for other jobs. Additionally, a freshly made screen is the best way to get a crisp quality print. We do however keep your films (used to make screens) and your future artwork/setup cost will be less if you continue to use the same exact art.
Q: My organization is non-profit / tax exempt, can you remove the sales tax from my order?
A: Yes, just provide us with a copy of your ST-105 or NP-1 form.
